Context
Platform for accessible educational minigames, built for the Human-Computer Interaction course. Any standalone web game can be "plugged in" by following a folder structure with an index.html and a meta.json; the games and categories database updates itself automatically on startup. Bomboclat is one of the games integrated into it.
Technical challenges
- real accessibility audit — evaluated with AccessMonitor (8.3/10 on the homepage, 8.2/10 on a game page) and the W3C validator, fixing issues like images missing alt text and the page's language being mis-declared
- plug-in game system — running third-party games in isolation, without touching the platform code
- metadata and automatic categorisation — reading each game's meta.json and keeping the database in sync on every startup
